100 Birthday of St Mary Redcliffe organ

We are very much looking forward to the 100th Birthday Celebrations for the St Mary Redcliffe Organ which begin this Saturday 21st April (this one hosted by SMR and B&DOA).
This coming Saturday is the nearest to the date that the organ was dedicated and opened in 1912, and an interesting and enjoyable afternoon has been planned, and we trust you have already booked this date in your diary!
The event begins at 12.30pm with a light lunch and drink at St Mary Redcliffe, followed by the cutting (and eating!) of the Birthday Cake!!
At 1.45pm an illustrated talk about the history of the organ will be given by Mark Venning (Harrison & Harrison) and Andrew Kirk (SMR), and this will include a demonstration of the huge range of sounds from the 71 ranks and 4327 pipes of this magnificent pipe organ.
A concert will follow at 3.00pm when Andrew Kirk, Claire and Graham Alsop will play pieces which demonstrate the superb quality of the instrument - some of the repertoire includes music from the 1912 opening series.
To book (essential) your LUNCH and LECTURE and CONCERT concessionary ticket (all three for only £10 per person) please email me not later than Thursday 19 April - you will be issued your ticket on arrival at SMR, but please send me your cheque for £10 immediately (payable to B&DOA), or you may pay me on the day. Reserved places by email are non-refundable.
If you cannot attend the lunch and talk you may purchase a concert only ticket for £5 at the door (cash).
See you on Saturday!
