 n returns in full glory\, celebrated by internationally acclaimed organist
  David Briggs\, who is renowned for his virtuosity\, musicality\, and inve
 ntive transcriptions of orchestral works.\nFor the Harry Crook Grand Openi
 ng Recital on Friday 8th May David will bring music spanning five centuri
 es to life\, demonstrating the full capabilities of the Cathedral’s magn
 ificent instrument.\nHis programme will include:\n\n 	Etude Symphonique\, 
 Op. 78 – Marco Enrico Bossi (1891-1925)\n 	Concerto in D major\, BWV 105
 4 – J S Bach (1685-1750)\, transcribed by Bernard Winsemius\n\n 	i. Alle
 gro\n 	ii. Adagio e piano sempre\n 	iii. Allegro\n\n\n 	Mouvement – Jean
  Berveiller (1904-76)\n 	Cortège et Litanie\, Op. 19\, No. 2 – Marcel D
 upré (1886-1971)\n 	Variations on Greensleeves – David Briggs (b. 1962)
 \n 	Introduction\, Passacaglia and Fugue\, Op. 149 – Healey Willan (1880
 -1968)\n 	Improvisation on a given theme – David Briggs\n\nThe following
  evening - Saturday 9th May - David will improvise a thrilling live score 
 to Rupert Julian’s 1925 film Phantom of the Opera.\n\nThese two events a
 re a collaboration between Bristol Cathedral and Bristol Beacon\, and tick
