The organ at Christ Church is one of the finest in Bristol. The case and some of the pipework is by Renatus Harris (1708), but most of the pipes date from rebuilds in 1826 by John Smith and in 1869 by WG Vowles. The organ has three manuals and pedals, and again has tracker action following a major overhaul in 1997 by Roger D Taylor, the organ builder from Burrington, who also added four new stops. A new Solo Trumpet was added to the Choir in 2008, the organ’s 300th year: there are now 34 stops.
