Women composers are celebrated annually on the first Sunday of March, which in 2023 is Sunday 5th March. In 2020 members of SWO researched and published information on known composers, and numbers participating in the day are growing each year as news spreads. One such composer is Rebecca Groome te Velde; here is her fantasia on the hymn tune St Theodulph, played by B&DOA member Alison Howell at St John’s Church, Keynsham. (The words “All glory, laud and honour to thee, Redeemer, King” are often sung to this tune (EH509))
