Our Treasure Hunt will take place in the area to the south of Yate, starting at St James the Great Church in Westerleigh BS37 8QP at 12 noon. The event will finish at St Anne’s Oldland Common, with a cream tea in their church hall. Anticipated finish at around 4.30pm.
The route involves visiting 7 churches, 6 of which have pipe organs that you should be able to play. The route is just over 15 miles; some of it is on quite narrow roads, though they are not expected to be busy. Along the way there are 56 questions to find the answers to and there will be a prize for the winning team. Each team will be given a printed question sheet at the start and this will also contain the detailed directions to get you between the various locations.
It would be easier if you are in teams of at least 2 as some clues are to be found during the driving. Do not be put off if you are initially on your own as we can make up some groups in Westerleigh before we start. The direct route from Oldland Common back to Westerleigh is only 7 miles at the end of the afternoon.
To help with catering, Eric Tyson would like to have an idea of numbers for the afternoon, so please let him know if you plan to take part.
