Monthly Saturday morning recitals at Westbury-on-Trym Parish Church, Church Road, BS9 3EQ.
This month the organist is Jean-René André, accompanist, organ teacher and composer, based at La Schola in Rennes.
His programme is:
- Jean-Sébastien Bach – Fantasia in G major (BWV 572)
- W.A. Mozart – The Pilgrim (from Magic flute)
- Johannes Brahms – Prélude et fugue en G mineur
- Samuel Sebastian Wesley – Holsworthy Church Bells
- Louis Vierne – Scherzetto (pièces en style libre)
- Jehan Alain – Variations sur Lucis Creator
- Maurice Duruflé – Fugue sur le thème du Carillon des Heures de la Cathédrale de Soissons
Hot drinks and cake are served from 1030; the music begins at 1100 and lasts around 40 mins.
A £5 donation on the door is suggested, under 18s free.
