There will be a concert by Pavlos Triantaris and Marily Kritikou at Holy Trinity Horfield at 3pm on Saturday 30 August. Their programme may be downloaded here.
Pavlos Triantaris has been studying the pipe organ since his first acquaintance with the king of instruments at age 19 in his homeland, Greece, with consequent appointments including the Hellenic premiere of Louis Vierne’s Missa Solemnis. Having relocated to Bristol in 2017, he held his first DoM position in Henleaze, and later, organ scholarships at the parish churches of Chingford and Brentwood. His organ instructor is Christos Paraskevopoulos (student of Nicholas Kynaston), and past tutors have included Jonathan Price. As of July 2022, he is organist with the Traditional Anglican Church in Britain, and the Poscimur travelling choir. In June 2025, he was appointed Assistant Director of Music at St. Swithin’s Cathedral of the Traditional Anglican Church, in Lincoln town.
He has given recitals at King’s Lynn Minster, St. Mary Redcliffe, Sherborne Abbey, and numerous other venues, and is active as freelance organist, and in the Organists’ Associations of Bristol and Lincolnshire. His activity also includes compositional projects, from small-scale works such as hymns and chants, to more recent work including a Lied with lyrics from Prof. Tolkien, and a Concert Rhapsody for orchestra.
Pavlos’s free-time endeavours rarely find him away from the exploration of the English countryside, or literature (with a particular proclivity for C.S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien).
Marily Kritikou, born in Thessaloniki, holds a diploma in classical singing from the New Conservatoire of Thessaloniki (class of Siranous Tsalikian), and has attended classical singing masterclasses with Dwight Coleman and Aris Christofellis.
